David Baird - Cement Process Design Specialist

David has over 40 years’ experience in the cement and minerals industry. Over this time he has gained extensive experience in the planning and commissioning of major projects worldwide and most specifically in the checking of process design calculations to validate business plans and proposed plant outputs. Clients look to David for assurance and confidence that an up rating or a greenfield site project is both advisable, technically and commercially. Due to his in-depth knowledge of cement plant design, David has the ability to challenge technical proposals to create optimal project outcomes.

David is a fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and is a Chartered Environmentalist. He has contributed to around 75 major projects and many minor plant upgrade projects, in addition to 30 technical and economic due diligence projects worldwide since the 1970’s. He is also a recognised international specialist in milling systems as well as kiln plant optimisation and performance improvement studies.
